Google has finally launched the Nexus 6, the first phablet of the Nexus family. This is the first Nexus smartphone made by Motorola and the first Nexus ‘phablet’ as well.
Google simply made the announcement through a blog post and there wasn’t any special event like Apple as rumored before. The Nexus 6 retains the overall design of the Moto X 2nd generation but packs a super-sized 5.96-inch display, which is almost 6-inch and as the name itself suggests. Nexus 6 comes with a metallic frame, which made it a bit more ‘premium’ in compare with past generations of the Nexus phone family.
The phone is powered by 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor paired with 3GB RAM and Adreno 420 GPU. The phone will be available in 32GB or 64GB storage options. Nexus 6 features a 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, and a 2-megapixel HD video conferencing camera. Nexus 6 pack s a 3,220mAh battery and is available in midnight blue and cloud white variants. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and NFC.
One of the biggest attraction of the phone is that it runs on Google’s latest Android release ‘Android 5.0 Lollipop’. Finally Google revealed the name of the latest Android OS after teasing in hilarious new video. The Nexus 6 also supports Motorola’s turbo charging, letting you get 6 hours of battery use in just 15 minutes.
